Harcourt Crescent

Extensions Shrewsbury Kitchens Disability Works Shropshire

33, Harcourt Crescent is a bungalow on a residential estate in North East Shrewsbury. It was built in the mid sixties and had been little changed since that time. The challenge was to make this property desirable and habitable for a younger couple suffering with restricted mobility.

The bungalow was extended and the living spaces were completely re-worked and opened up, giving a modern airy feel. 2 new wet rooms lend the property a luxury edge, while allowing improved access. Under floor heating throughout, improves comfort, reduces running costs and gives complete programmed control for each room.

Access was massively improved with raised paths and patios at all entrances. Zero threshold heights were achieved using continuous drainage around the complete property. Large patio style doors were fitted to all the reception and bed rooms, allowing unrestricted movement between the reconstructed garden area and the living spaces. Decorative railings and iron work provide safety to the raised patio and access paths as well as providing increased visual presence to the property
